Want to connect CarPlay but can’t? Don’t worry! Follow the instructions below. The first time you connect, it may take a little longer to connect. After that, the connection will be quick and automatic.
Step 1
Open the ZLINK or Speedplay application on your car radio. Please note: this application is pre-installed. If you can’t find the application and you purchased the car radio from us, please contact us. When you are in the ZLINK application, make sure that CarPlay/AA is shown at the top left. You can switch to mirrorlink using the button at the bottom, but we do not recommend this.
Step 2
Go to Bluetooth on the iPhone and scroll all the way down to where the new devices are displayed. Then press AVISON. If AVISON can't be found, turn Bluetooth on and off.
Step 3
Give permission when asked.
Step 4
After a few seconds, you will also be asked for permission for CarPlay, so make sure you give permission.
Step 5
On the screen of the car radio you will see a green icon in the middle, which indicates that the connection is almost established. Please note: this can sometimes take a minute, but you only have to wait that long the first time. If all goes well, you will see after a few seconds or a minute that the connection has been successful.
Troubleshooting
Does the car radio keep charging without anything happening? Then follow the steps below to solve the problem.
Go to the settings of your iPhone and then press CarPlay settings.
Then scroll down and look for ZLINK. Press ZLINK and check if CarPlay is enabled. If it is not enabled, turn it on. If it still does not work despite being enabled, press Forget Vehicle. Then go to your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings and delete the AVISON pairing. After this, you can retry the pairing. Most likely there was a bug somewhere that caused the pairing to fail. Retrying usually helps to fix this issue.
